The situation in Sudan has not changed in recent months, and, after more than a year since the conflict started, the country has been plunged into one of the largest displacement crises in the world. In the last months, we have continued our support with our campaigns Sudan Solidarity and Healing Hearts. Thanks to your help we have managed to support and help many Sudanese. Although it is probably just a drop in the ocean, we continue tirelessly in our mission and we will do the best we can to help the Sudanese people.
To increase our help towards Sudanese we have decided to embark on a new project to help raise funds for Sudanese artists who are still in Sudan. Apart from the displaced and injured people, the war has left countless individuals without jobs or a means to support their families. Among them, some artists have found themselves particularly vulnerable and by selling some of their works we can help sustain themselves and their families.
This initiative is not only a response to the immediate economic challenges but also a commitment to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Sudan during these tumultuous times. Art is more than just a means of income; it is a vital expression of identity and resilience. In the face of adversity, the work of artists can provide solace, preserve history, and offer hope. We aim to foster a sense of normalcy and continuity in their lives by enabling these artists to continue creating and selling their work.
We started this project by creating a page where you can view and purchase some drawings made by artist Khalid Margani over the past year. These drawings, which were brought to us by a colleague who was recently in Sudan, perfectly reflect the current situation in Sudan. You can visit the page by clicking the photo below.
Your support can make a significant difference. By purchasing artwork, donating to our project, or spreading the word, you contribute to Sudanese artists’ survival and prosperity in their most challenging times. Together, we can help them transform adversity into an opportunity to survive, ensuring their voices and stories continue to be heard.
